Trip Overview
We’re arriving in time for a buffalo burger lunch at the Airport in the Sky Restaurant 1.
After lunch we’ll hike the 2.8 mile airport loop trail 2. Bring your hiking shoes and some water.
Looking for a weekend getaway? Catalina and Avalon make a great destination. Catch the shuttle or taxi down into Avalon from the airport and check in to one of the many hotels and BnBs.

COPA’s resident Catalina expert, Bob Eicholz, will be on hand to guide us. Bob owns a home in Hamilton Cove 1 and knows the island well and can help with accommodations, restaurants, and transportation recommendations. Book early if you want to stay. August is prime season for Catalina.
We’ve planned a group dinner in Avalon depending on the level of interest.
The airport doesn’t sell 100LL so land with plenty of fuel to get you back to the mainland.
