Instruction Insights
Paul New has been involved with flying and maintaining piston engine aircraft since grade school. He soloed the day after his 16th birthday, received his private certificate and multi-engine rating at 17 and later added an instru- ment rating. He has a degree in aircraft electronics and worked in avionics for several years before taking over the family business, Tennessee Aircraft Services, Inc. in Jackson, Tennessee, in 1986. Paul is an FAA-certified A&P mechanic with inspection authorization and was honored as the 2007 National Aviation Maintenance Technician of the Year. He writes a monthly technical col- umn for the Cessna Pilots Association magazine and gives ownership presen- tations for COPA CPPPs, CPA events, and the Cessna Owners Organization. Tennessee Aircraft Services is a Cirrus authorized service center and special- izes in Cirrus aircraft with a total of eight employees.
