Hi Folks!
It has been quite a while since I have updated this blog and for that I apologize.
The good news is that I have been very busy working on an accelerated instrument rating with a client. He took his test today and passed the oral in record time... and would have done the same for the flight if ATC hadn't vectored him to the boonies for a DC9. No sweat for him, though, and ultimately our post-brief with the examiner lasted *maybe* 5 minutes. The D.E. was impressed and told me so on several occasions.
Congratulations Vikram! You earned every drop of ink on that certificate and it was my pleasure to fly with you.
In other news, I wanted to mention that I'll be dropping off the face of the earth again for a while. As those who have seen me at the Migration or CPPPs will remember, I have had some hip issues for a few years now. I've finally obtained the clearance I need for surgery and will be going under the knife down in L.A. next Monday (the 11th). It'll take a few months of rehab before I can teach again, but it'll be worth the down time.
I'll do a little more writing here once I'm off the painkillers. In the mean-time, fly safely!
